Is this true or a sales pitch by dealer?

I am wanting to get me a new 3120xp HUSKY, so I thought I had a good price on powerhead of $1625.00 plus 30 shipping.
I wanted to get a 48 inch bar, and here is the quote, the first looked good as you see here, BUT THEN THE SALESMAN WROTE ME BACK WITH THE 2ND, SAYING THE 1ST IS NO MORE, THIS TRUE GUYS OR YOU KNOW OF A PLACE TO STILL GET THE 1ST COMBO AT THAT PRICE OR LOWER?

1ST
The 42" .404 pitch Husqvarna bar/chain combination would cost you $119.00 plus $14.95 shipping to your address. The 48" bar/chain combination would be $139.00 plus $16.95 shipping to your address.

THEN THIS 2ND
I was just checking with the Husqvarna dealer to verify prices and he said he can no longer get the 42 and 48 inch bars in the 404 itch. The have been replaced with 44" and 50" titanium Husqvarna bars which are much heavier, much better, higher quality, and unfortunately, much more expensive. The 44" bar/chain combination is $244.00 plus shipping of about 18.95. This is about $50.00 off of retail prices and the 50" bar/chain combination is $293.00 plus about $21.95 shipping which is also about $50.00 off retail prices

LET ME KNOW WHAT YOU GUYS THINK OF THAT, OR A BETTER PLACE TO GO, FEEL FREE TO SEND ME BY E MAIL OR TELEPHONE OW URL TO A LOWER BETTER PLACE OR SOMEONE THAT DOES HAVE THE 1ST COMBO?

THANKS

checking out Bailey's (a site sponsor) 42" bars gives an idea of what bars alone are going for

Bars

Then going to look for chains I'll search woodland pro 123 drive link which is what should fit that bar and that saw in .404 as you want 404 and woodland pro seems to be halfway reasonable in price I see it's .29 cents per drive link which comes to a total of $35.67

so an Oregon bar with chain will be 157.66 (edit-- looking back at the baileys site I see that the oregon bar is only a hundred dollars.. the bar/chain combo is $121.99

or a high quality Woodland Pro bar (rebadged Cannon bar) in 42" with .404 chain will run you 235.66 plus s&h

so I'd say the second is about right... $244 plus s&h for the 44" sounds about in line with the $235 plus s&h for bars of comparable quality. But the first is also about right-- just depends on how high end you want your bar...

I'd think though that the dealer might be willing to work with you considering you're purchasing a $1700 dollar saw and give you a break on the bar and chain...

have you tried numerous dealers or direct from husqvarna?
my dealer has the 3120xp with i think a 40 or 42 inch bar on sale right now for 15something

Mimbach Fleet Supply

i like dealing with them, most of the people that work there own stock, so they care
ive always been very happy shopping there
they only have one guy there tho that really knows saws, a couple others have the book crap down
i forget his name but youll know when you talk to them
hes one of the mechanics

i shipped out an email to mimbach and will call baileys tomorrow to check, you guys think I should go with the new titanium bar or what, ONLY BUYING ONCE , SO I WANT THE BEST COMBO MONEY CAN BUY HERE????????????

THANKS

titanium is prolly lighter, a lot i would think, idk, but those big bars hold up pretty well, they can be machined for square and the tips can be replaced, just dont bend it and be sure youre oiling
