I believe that is from the style guide for ISA-CA logo use

http://www.arboristsite.com/newreply.php?do=newreply&p=1162641

Here is the style guide. IMO they do get a little too picky, but I do agree with the CA requirements, too often there are companies that abuse the usage. If there is not a CA in the truck, it should not be there.

As for those who do not climb....How about

those who have never done IPM work, never looked at a bug or disease should not be arborists.

Those who never plant trees

Those who never look at shrubs and vines

Those who disdain getting dirt under their nails to examine a root flair.

Trimming may be the bulk of the income from tree work, but it is a small part of arboriculture. People in lab coats have just as much right to gain the title as a guy in a t-shirt and saddle.

I agree with you there, however I can count the customers that
actually care about these issue's on one hand in my area. I get
calls for removals 90% of the time trimming 8.2, stumps .06 and
actual tree care related issues .02 and all they want is you to
answer questions so $ where are they?

Read the post where I quoted you.

Nice to "meet" you Tim. I see you're in Coeur d'Alene. Were you at the Boise conference? I don't think so, reckon we'd have met.

Do you know Steve Lambert? He's a local BCMA, doesn't do big trees, and works pretty much alone, but he was just chosen as Commercial Arbo of the Year. A real nice guy!

I was originally signed up to attend the PNW conference, but at the last minute had other things come up and had to cancel. I have met S.L. at a conference in Seattle a few years ago.

Unfortunately, I have not done much with the ISA-PNW organization. I would like to get more involved but there is the time issue, and our location is a bit out of the way.

Well, clearance, looks like I was wrong.

The style guide says only that including your Cert# is preferred, not required.

But the online info is more current.
