After thinking I was never going to recover any investment in the Dolmar 119 I bough off ebay, I'm happy to report it's up and running. Thanks to Alex Woolford for getting me the parts! I still have some tinkering to do but am happy with the way it runs so far. Autopsy revealed the high speed screw was only 1/2 turn out. The oiler doesn't seem to be what I'd call an overacheiver. I wish I could ppost a sound clip. Here's a picture.

The oiler is adjsutable under the bottom there is a screw for the adjustment. Nice looking 119. They run good. The 119 is point model saw. Enjoy it.

Wow that saw is slick! The 119 has electronic ignition in it! On your oiler check the hole from the pump to the bar. They will plug there and you will get a starved oil effect! Enjoy here she should be a strong saw!

The saw looks great but...

I`m lusting over that purty blue roll away with maple top that it`s sitting on. Now that I think of it, I`ve always looked to see what they sit on, and a nice top, that`s just a bonus. Hmmmm...... :D

Sedanman--I have your saws sister and she puts out. Outher than weight I'ts the best quality saw i've ever had my hands on.My 119 dumps copious amounts of bar oil had to set her back, yours must have a little problem, well worth fixing.--Frank

oil pumps

I have recently bought a couple of pumps for the older Dolmars (120 super & 133 super - different pumps) and the price for the complete pump which includes the crank worm gear is very reasonable, less than $55.00.

oiler

I can back up bandmillers post, I have a 119 and the thing throws oil out like mad. I was cutting maple this past weekend near a neighbors fence and found that I had to roll the logs away from the fence because I was spraying oil all over the fence. I can't recall the exact type of lube, but it's a top quality bar-n-chain specific lube, thick as honey in the winter.

oil thats thick as honey in winter, thats some pretty heavy oil. the saw will run you just gotta put the cylinder back on it, and HOLY CRAP!! the piston DEFINATELY needs to be replaced. The origanal owner must have been either a crappy carb tuner or just didnt understand the reasin that a 2 stroke engine needs to have oil and gas mixed together to work well.

Sedanman,
Should you have to change the oiler worm gear there is a special puller that doubles as the installation tool. Without this tool it is pretty near impossible to assure the worm gear in on the crankshaft in the proper place. When this happens it destroys the drive gear in the oil pump itself. The part number for the puller is 957433000 and it is still available.
