The log is not mine sadly, I was just in charge of hacking at it! Mdavlee I wish I could find logs like that too, but getting to be apart of the action was enough for me and I was all smiles the whole time we were cutting. The Lucas mill I have now has exactly 76" of width capacity and after shaving a couple inches here and there we were still forcing some slabs through the throat of the mill. I sharpen the chains EXACTLY as I sharpen them with my chainsaw mill it's just that even though the chains are much longer there are many less teeth to touch because the chains are super duper extra skip. They are about 7" or so between each set of teeth. The lucas I have is a dedicated slabber so it is not an attatchment with a gearbox to the regular swing mill. The rails and framework are the same it's just a large chainsaw bar directly driven from a twenty horse gas engine without the need for attatchments or gear boxes off the engine which allows for the extra width.
