I have to say, I love my little 021.
I've had this saw for about 12 years and it doesn't miss a beat. I gave it a tune up this weekend to go pepper bashing in the nature reserve. Climbing down steep banks, thrashing through knee high asparagus fern, light little saw with plenty of oomph...
Its just perfect for close quarters work, pepper is twisty springy stuff, nothing bigger than about 10". This is one situation a big saw would have been a hazard. Little saws have their place too!!

(Mexican pepper - Schinus terebinthifolius - public enemy #1)

I love cutting with my ms 250(small stuff at least) It's fun to use a lightweight saw.

Yup

Small, lightwieght saws definitely have their place in sawdom. There are times I wish I had something smaller than my 028s for the brushy stuff. But when I get sick of bending over with it I just switch out to my brush saw, so haven't acquired a smaller saw yet. Have a 012 for a back up climbing saw/trimming saw that I sometimes use in the capacity that you mention. But it is not a true rear handled, traditional saw and do not like it for extended use.

:bang: I have to admit that I don't see the point with that model (or the 23), as the stronger 025/MS250 is basically the same saw......

....and an 024/MS240 would surely have been much nicer.

04 did you HAVE to!!!

As for the 250 I have one of those too, Its fine, nice for felling small trees and delimbing yeah, but for the little stuff and the conditions I mentioned the 021 is better. Its lighter, manouverable and I think it runs better.
The 021 was the first saw I got, a friend was coming down from Canada and we asked him to bring a saw, thats what he brought, I didn't pick it, had it ever since.

If I had my druthers I'd trade in my 250 for a 260 and put a 16" bar on it.
