nice stuff, ehh???
The family Anacardiaceae contains poison ivy, poison oak, poison sumac, and Schinus terebinthifolius, or Brazilian pepper-tree. People sensitive to poison ivy, oak or sumac may also be allergic to Brazilian pepper tree because it also has the potential to cause dermatitis to those with sensitive skin. Some people have also expressed respiratory problems associated with the bloom period of pepper tree.
Just lovely....!
When I started out as an apprentice, I was posted to the conservation unit of our Parks Dept, given a machete, pointed towards the pepper mess and told 'go, chop, kill'...
It used to give me a mild rash, and PI ...well that was just nasty...not any more though
When culling this stuff you HAVE to treat the stumps with herbicide, if not in six months its just as bad, if not worse cause now you have a zillion 1" 10' sprouts!
Some bright spark brought it to Bermuda because it has pretty red berries at Christmas time, unfortunately EVERY single on of them germinates...like millions and I'm not kidding.
Gaaahhh KILLL....(I'm ok now, really...bed time night night)
