I suprised convenience store workers didn't make the list!

I wonder if tree climbing fatalities are factored into this?

Would that be a sub-set, or something? Or is climbing a different catagory alltogether?

Accidents

The safety man at a logging outfit in S.E. Alaska told us that the cutting crews there had the highest accident rate in the nation. Their studies showed that 75% of the accidents happened in the first hour or the last hour.
Besides the rough terrain and "over mature" timber , many guys are a thousand miles away from home. So the first hour your thinking about the girlfriend or wife. Keep your mind on the job or go home. The last hour they figured was fatigue, so you could only be on the saw for 7 hrs. max. If you get too tired stop.
