Guys, been working on one of these for a customer. Previous owner quit running it probably because the check valve between the crankcase and oiler tank quit checking. Just like that old Remington I was working on a while back. Anyhoo, I found a McMaster Carr part that ought to fix that.
The real problem is, the recoil refuses to work. Just a regular old Fairbanks-Morse friction shoe job. When I install the fiber washers and shoe assembly and fasten it down with the screw and washer, the rotor turns much too tight and dawgs do not rotate out. I guess I could try removing the fiber washers. I also have an 045 parts recoil that'll have good washers.
Anybody got any other suggestions?
