Yes, it is one of a few makes under consideration. Deere prices are to dear. Was hoping to find some other dealer... not having much luck. Want model a165 or 181, bar choices seem a little short for the power involved.

Lou, there's no Efco dealers in Wa. And the one online source for cheap Deeres is now gone. I'd suggest North City Mower and Saw in Shoreline, for the awesome Dolmar 5100S, if you want to buy locally. Or, in your size range, the PS 6400-7300-7900 are great saws. I have a modded 7900. Otherwise, there's a dealer here who is NY based and would prolly sell you one cheaper. I got mine from them a year ago for a great price.

I see the 962C was replaced with the 165 which rates .3 hp less and .6 lb more....

Dave Neiger modded a 962C that was hard to beat.

Tell him to set up an internet site. I went to Efco USA & tried finding anyone with Internet connection... How do you spell phat chance. Repairs no problem have local Deere dealer just don't want to pay initial Deere mark-up. Deere models CS62 or CS71.

I spent the first 20 years of my life in Maumee, Ohio. My rich Uncle (1970) said I want you. I enlisted in AF. First winter spent in Phoenix I swore I would NEVER shovel snow out of driveway again. Remained true to that until Unc said Germany (1985) and South Dakota (1989-90). I no longer snap to when unc growls. Seriously have your guy contact me.

Thanks for the info.

I have never heard of Efco. Actually, I found this saw laying on the side of the highway. It had little use on it, and while it was covered in dirt and spiderwebs, it fired on the first crank! That was after I picked up parts for 50 yards and put it back together. Anyway, it cleaned up good and the damage was very minimal. It is about the same size as my Husky 350.

He also has no internet connection. I'm not understanding this. Costs next to nothing.
