Hey Guys and Gals,
I am a firewood cutter / chainsaw enthusiast who just purchased a Jonsered 2095 off of ebay... nice clean looking saw runs good fires right up at idle after second pull, my question is what should the compression be? I thought it would have a bit more bite so i checked it and it has 105psi. I checked my 670 Champ and it has 145. Is this new used 2095 a victim of a bad rebuild should I be concerned? I looked in there with a flash light and the cylinder looked smooth no scoring but maybe too smooth like it does not have the cross hatch pattern you usually see... but these big hogs could run only 100psi?
Any help would be greatly appreciated thanks!
To be fair I checked the champ cold and the 2095 after burying it into 40" ash tree.
thanks!

Does seem low. but if it runs and cuts good and isn't scored, oh well. Break it in a few tanks, check it again.

To clarify it is used. I asked the guy what he did to it and he said the only thing he did was replace the brake band. I will run it more and see how it does just curious i guess. thanks for you help

Could have a leaky decompression valve. They can make a big difference on a compression test but less when running.

It doesnt make sense because to me 100psi means a saw is worn out but it cut ok... maybe a bit rich, and fired right up at idle
