Jonsered 49SP ignition problem

Greetings,

I acquired this saw and have an ignition problem. The previous owner said it would stop when hot, the start back up after cooling. Now it's dead altogether. I'm not getting any spark.

Do you all consider this a coil problem, or condenser?

Any idea where I can pick up a used coil at a "reasonable" price?

they dont make parts for that saw anymore.try ebay.there are some aftermarket parts that might work.mega fire ignition will work. E-Bay item # 280134592021

Thanks for your reply. There's a Nova II that's been highly recommended as well to me.

Do you think the problem is the condenser vs. the coil?

Any leads on where I can find a coil?

i would try ebay.does that saw have points.i have the same saw but mine doesnt.if yours has points that could be the problem.i was told most of them have points.

I should have the coil and all the other parts

I will check tomorrow and see
