I have one of each that I am working on. Same stroke and bore, so what am I missing other than some cosmetic changes like shutoff switch, clutch, oiler, etc. Did they have the same power? Why would you build two similar saws from a marketing perspective? Does only the 630 have the two piece ignition or was that a change in the production cycle? At least with the 670, you have a difference in cc's. I need some help getting out of my state of confusion.

A 625 is a "detuned" 630.The 625 got open transfers, thats the main difference that explains difference in hp.Also she got a rubber intake instead of the 630 fiber block.Everything else is the same. The later 630 had a one piece ignition.Depending of serial, switch were different on both saws.

Thanks, HiOctane. It is more clear to me. Why would anyone use the 625 when the 630 was available with more hp? Consumer vs. pro? Maybe it is similar to offering a pickup with a V6 or a V8: same vehicle, more power?
You're right, consumer price vs pro users price.
