So folks, here's the question: How big of a bar can a Jred 90 pull?
I am mostly cutting oak, 30" dbh. Today I had the saw out and it pulled a 24" bar just fine...I think it has a Total "super bar" with a calton half skip, 3/8" chain. It ran kinda slow, but the operating rpm is supposed to be 8500 rpm.
It kinda seems to be doing better than my ms361...which i guess makes sense...
Another problem is that the Jred keeps loosing its chain. I have checked everything, and everything seems to be in order, except I am not entirely sure of the plate orientation in the clutch housing. Also, every now and then I can see sparks on the sprocket end of the bar...wtf?
thanks guys
