I have picked up a new old saw and from the bore and the pictures on acres sites I know it is one of these how do I tell them apart? how much power did they put out?

I think she will be a runner but I will clean her up, she probably needs a carb kit though

I think it is interesting that the old jonsereds had a inboard clutch way back then, they went to outboard after and then back to inboard?

Thanks

Buck

The 920 and 930 (and 820/830) look pretty different from the 910, as they have a Partner inspired handlebar design.

The easiest way to tell a 930 from the 920 is one or two screws on the air lilter cover (but I don't remember right now which has two.....).

The 930 has the two screws, one on each side. The 920 has one large, silver screw that is in the center of the air filter. The 910 has the decomp on the top of the cylinder and the 920-930's do not have any decomp. Air filters on a 930 have two screws that attach and the 920 is held on by that one big screw.

Just has to add, the 910 was one of the last "pure" Jonsereds designs, the 920 was one of thye first "E-lux" ones........:yoyo: :yoyo:

A good running 910 is a thrill to cut with. parts are getting hard to come by.

Thank you all, I am the proud owner of a 910, does anyone have a clue as to what the power was?
does anyone have a ipl?

for an older large displacement saw it handles fairly well.

The casting is not Mahles best, I need to get in and even up the transfers I have never seen that before. Normally Mahle is top rate.

IPLs for the 920 and 930 are on this web-site, along with some other Jonsered IPLs.

As for the power, I have never seen any "official" numbers. My best guess is that it is a bit lower than for the Husky 288xp (same bore and stroke, both E-lux, 288xp some years newer).......

the 920 is 87cc, like sawtroll said same bore and stroke as 288xp husky.

Buck,
I have 2 920's that I use for milling. I have been very pleased so far as they both start without a problem even without a decompressor. Both were well used when I aquired them and after new rings were good as new running wise. Filters for the 920 are practically non-existant so I have gathered parts from a 930 to convert to the 930 filter setup which is similar to the Husqvarna 288. It also uses the same ignition as the 288.

thank you all,
it looks like a 910 not a 920 upon futher review. It has a spot for the decomp but it has been plugged I may see if it will take one from another saw.

I like it but I will probably just get it running and send it down the road.

any idea of the value of it.

Is just the top cover plugged, or is the cylinder plugged as well?

Are you absolutely sure it isn't a model 90
(had decomp valve), or even a 801 (did not have decomp valve, but shared the top cover with the 90, just plugged)?

Definately not a 90 the oil fill cap is near the gas cap. Both are plugged, I think it is from the factory that way because it doesn't look like a botch job.

I will take some pics and post them. it is definately a 87cc saw because it has a 54mm bore.
