I think Husqvarna 288 and 385's use the same ring size.
288's should be easy to find.

Yep I get email on a lot of their specials......but for some reason the biggest Caber ring I can find on their site are 44.3MM....????
"The GreeK" .... aka.... DLA Engine Parts on ebay also sells a full line of Caber rings. Shipping is pretty quick and prices good but Northwoods is closer and quicker.

That they do! That makes better sense. Not sure why I couldn't navigate there before. Hmmmm...very interesting thing though.....Northwoods is a buck a set less than the HL set.......but.....Northwoods shipping is a buck or better more.....so all in all, pretty much a wash pricewise....Northwoods gets stuff to me very quickly, like 2-3 days max.
I'm sure the two house are most likely very competitive and aware of each other's pricing. I've never used Northwoods, but would like to try them. HL is littering my inbox every day with some sale or promotional thing because I've bought from them. I think HL was fast for me, if I remember correctly.
I think maybe you were restricted to that one page of smaller rings because you went through my original link? Other than that, I don't have an answer.

Yeah that could be....same here on the adds!!! Northwoods is a much smaller outfit...they seem to be as cheap as I can find stuff but they have a more limited selection.....but they also do some pretty neat stuff......like they were the first to sell an AM piston for the 49sp....nice piston overall made by VEC....very nice fit and finish except the distance between the wristpin bosses...an issue that I managed to overcome after a fashion. Did a 49SP build thread on here highlighting that piston but I think it was before the hack so I imagine the pics are lost to the thread...
Yeah, I remember you talking about the AM piston and your fix. That rebuild you originally posted showing everything including the little convection oven is all gone...the pics anyway. Damn shame too. The principles you used apply to most older saws....great read when there were the companion pics.

Aren't they though......smooth, decent power and chain speed...quiet....just a pleasant saw to run...the 621 is the same....neither are extreme power houses but have enough torque and chain speed to cut wood very nicely. Compared to the other choices available at the time....way superior in every way.....

LOL!! Wow....hold me back for the next one. I'm beginning to think there is nothing more presently hyped than a 111S.
It's not like they slew the trees of the PNW...they're weren't enough of them made and they needed to refine some more with electronic ignition, at least a plastic top cover and a more mangable fulll-wrap.
Holy Grail saws...meh.

Boy...that didn't take long....I thought that complete full wrap would sell that thing in a heart beat...pretty close.
I think that was sold by AS member "Hoss".
