I thought these were originally cut like that - all of my 111 full wraps were cut too.
No. The real issued full-wrap for the 80/90's had the AV back to the saw(the 910 had the AV too, but the full-wrap was redesigned). I've posted pics before of mine and Robin landed one himself too. The mag case bodies are shaped for the AV and there is a pilot hole too for the screw to mount the AV. A helper I had broke my full-wrap by throwing heavy wood on top of it. That's what put me in the pickle I'm in. I have a supply of the unobtainium AV's for the full-wrap, but a broken full-wrap. I also have a steel, smaller diameter full-wrap that I'm using in the interim. It's cut before it goes to the saw body, but it's the only full-wrap I've seen like it. Doesn't look homemade, but could be I suppose.

However, Tilton and Scotsco sold the saws out here with the full-wraps put on by American subcontractors. This is my theory, because I'm pretty sure they didn't leave Sweden with the full-wraps installed. But it was a factory endorsed and designed feature. I think it was the same on the Husky 2100...the full-wraps were put on in the states. The original bolts on the bottom of the Husky 2100 full-wraps were SAE, not metric. Who actually made the full-wraps I can't say with any certainty.

The 110/111/111S never had that AV feature and I'm betting what few 621's were issued with full-wraps didn't have it either.

A buddy has a n.o.s. Pro Safety full wrap for a 2100, it's a dead ringer for the oem Husky ones so maybe Pro Safety was the one who made all of 'em.

That could certainly be spot on. I've never been able to get an answer. Someone who sold saws at Tilton/Scotsco/Baileys's back in the day ought to know. I could have asked Bill Bailey himself when he was alive but honestly, no one cared. They were just pro tools we were using, waiting for the next latest/greatest to come down the pipeline.

I would imagine that Jonsereds and Husqvarna licensed these contractors to make the full-wrap handles in the US(maybe even a Canadian connection....dunno) and they came to Tilton/Scotsco/Bailey's as a kit......and they would get installed if you, the consumer, specified. Bailey's always asked me if I wanted a chain brake and the full-wrap on the 2100's.

They are still delicate.
Did they fit the hole, or did you have to redrill? Do you remember the #’s for the other members?

Even my replacement switches for the Husky 2100’s have plastic cores. But I never had issues with them.....maybe replaced two in all the yrs.

It’s so easy to manufacture a durable switch. I don’t get why they would cut corners on that part.

Direct fit. I used it for one of those dreded 5xx saws.

It's amazing they've lasted as long as they have. Completely maddening to work on, yes......they just fall apart.

And because of that they became rare as the dealer stock disappeared. No doubt Robin has a dozen of them NOS in his little OD 'green' Jonsereds dealer boxes....lol!!

Kevin
Couldn’t find switch; sure I sent it away. Rather than buy OE switch I opted to buy 4 OE Homelite switches. Got couple other saws with bad switches. Sposed to be here next week. We’ll see then what it takes.

OK....I don't wanna talk out of turn about Steve Kubec from Wisconsin and that big collection pictured above by Scott.....but....I did some research and I now know someone that's been to Steve's place twice, seen the saws and knows Steve well.

And as I suspected, there is a 'story' there....why the saws look the way they do and the thousands that have been put into them. However, if you want to know the details, I can tell you in PM, rather than post it public. I will say this...he's not a crook or trying to do anything unethical. He just hasn't been 'smart' about how how he's gotten to this point of having to sell his saws and his parts saws.

Can anyone tell me how to go about removing the lid latch and reinstalling it on another saw without breaking it. The saw in the case is a 2149.

Mark
It can be tricky, especially on an older saw as the get a little brittle. You take that screw off that is above the latch then you go underneath and there is a tab you hold down with a small screwdriver and slide the latch out. The one by the cylinder is hard to do with the cylinder on.

Anyone know what this mystery Jonny is? I'm still kinda new to this addiction, er..... INTEREST, I mean lol

Another one with recoil cover on. Maybe a 52/52e?
