Found a 670 super locally in decent shape with a 24" bar. I would think it would be a nice saw with a 20" on it. Guy wants 375 if I can snag it closer to 300 would it be worth it? It would be my first jonsered, thanks fellas

Closed port 50mm cyl. 268xp sister.

Depends where ya is but my 268XPW is made for a 24" bar.

$300 seems good, if it's clean and healthy better yet.

I'm in Ohio , used to score saws cheap around here but ever since covid it's like everything else they're on the high side . I'll be in the guys area tomorrow going to see if he will be around for me to give it a look over.

$300.00 would be reasonable if it is a Champ or Super II. These are the latest versions of the 670. I would be hard put to pay that much for the earlier version with the two piece ign unless it was really mint. You can't always identify these saws by the stickers as covers get changed or the serial tag may be missing. Quickest way to tell early from late is the location of the front, top cover bolt on the left hand side. If the top cover bolt is forward of the upper left hand recoil cover bolt it is the early version....if it's aft of the recoil cover bolt it is the late version. All good saws and dependable just the latest versions were more refined and a bit easier to work on.

I can't tell on my phone if thats a homemade muffler job or not, it looks factory but the pictures are blurry when I zoom in

No that's a stock muffler. Black ID tag makes it likely an 88-90 year or so. Early version but does look to be in decent used shape. Nice saws....
