Does anyone know which Jred model has the front handle that's somewhat S shaped? When looking at it from the side the handle comes to nearly the middle of the recoil. I've checked CSCC/acresinternet, but I couldn't find a photo of anything with quite the same handle. The saw looks very much like a 52 or 49, maybe around 50cc. I'll try a photo later if need be. Thanks!

Ha!
You ran over that 80, and try to cover it up....
Well you did not cover it!!!
You tossed it rigt in the fan!!!!!!!!!!! :p

No, it's a lot smaller & lighter than my 801. I took some photos this evening, & I'll try to post them tomorrow. But...mentioning run over ( :Eye: got the joke ;)), something did happen to the handle, which is what gives it an unusual sort of S shape.

I'll post some photos tomorrow.

That would be a 49 SP with a bent front handle, and missing the hand guard.

Chris.
If you look in the handle mount on the bottom you will see a sixside bolt holding the runner that is on the handle.
Take this bolt out.
Release the bolt on the upper mount too, be careful, as the magnesium is weak around the handle.
I do not think it is bent, I think it is off position. This will create tension on the handle mounts. Release the lower first!!!

Thanks to everyone for the input & advice. Now if I decide to make this saw a project, at least I'll know what model I have.

Aw ra best! Chris J.

If you look closely at the handlebar in the second and third pictures, it definitely looks bent.

If the bolts are loosened and the handle is not stuck in the bracket, it can be puched fprward easely, and get back in position.
Most of the 52's I got here is the same some even more, but it is not bent!

Chris, please look.

If it was bent the rubbers in the bracket would not be in correct position.

If the ends of the handlebar remain in the same spot, the bar can still be bent in the middle, without messing up the mounts. It looks to me like the bar has been bent so that it has been pushed back, but the ends where it is connected to the mounts have not changed position significantly. Without actually seeing it in person, neither of us can say for sure though.

I put two of the 52 I have and one 451, and compared the handles angle regardless of mount position, if that handle is bent the pic's do not show it.

You compared bar to handle....
So if the bar was on rubber mounts and you push down the saw, does that change the angle of the bar?
It it does then you fix it in that position with a bracket and lock it with a bolt.
You you then have a bent bar, or just simply need to adjust a few angles???

The two AV mounts look as though they've been pushed back out of correct position. The 49 is going to have to wait a while, as the oiler for the Stihl 025 arrived today, & hopefully I'll soon have a Jred 920 to tinker with.~~~~Aw ra best! Chris J.
