I need an ignition primary stator coil for a 52E. Been watching ebay for a while, and nothing. I imagine these are pretty few and far between seeing as most saws sold during that era were point type ignition. Just thought I'd throw it out there before I strip the saw down and sell the parts. I'm not interested in converting it to point type. Those saws are a dime a dozen.

I spent close to a year looking for one for my 70E. My Dad bought a 52E new,and when he gave it to me it had a point set up.Not sure why he had it changed over way back when. Good Luck!

All that I can say is Good Luck. I found a couple for my 66E but they wanted more than the saw was worth. Another thing that I found is that my 70E had a different pickup assembly compared to the 66E.

Jonsereds 70E

Just picked up a 70E. Still in mail. Have no expereince with Jreds as most of my saws are either older Poulans or Stihls. Would appreciate your thoughts on the 70E or other Jreds in this class. Thanks.

There is only one other Jreds saw in this family. The 66E. There were two different 70E igns. The one with the plastic fan on the flywheel and the coil mounted in the recoil housing ( same as the 66E), the later one had an aluminum flywheel and fan and the coil is mounted to the side of the cyl. like a 49SP.

Hi, I'm new to the forum and not sure if dredging up this old thread is appropriate, but here goes. Does anybody know if one of the aftermarket conversion modules ( i.e. Nova, ect. ) will replace the SEM module on a Jonsereds 52E, 66E, early 70E ?
