I have a running Jonsereds 90, but the female threads in the body for the bar studs are now stripped, and there is a small crack in the casing next to the thread. Anybody know how to either repair this or find the required parts to fix it? I'm guessing I have to buy a new crankcase assembly, but not sure what is involved, or how to find one.

Well there's a number of ways to fix that from welding the crack and the hole in, bore and retap the threads.....no telling if that will work....depends on the guy welding. You could try a helicoil.....etc.

The best way would be to either replace the pto side case half or the entire crankcase and crank and either way replace both crank seals at the same time.....80, 801 and 90 cases/crank are all the same. Bunch of work but if you're handy with tools not undoable.

Thanks a lot for the advice.

Any recommendations for the best place to get new/used parts for this old saw?
