Jonsered 2152c or Husky 346xp

I was about to order a 346 online, but happened to stop by my local Jonsred dealer yesterday to find thier saws on sale. I'd really like to do some local business, but noone locally is willing to sell the 346 for less than $400. The 346 is my favorite small-medium tree crane saw. Do you think the 2152c would be as good? It's the same price as the 346.

(I know this belongs in the chainsaw forum, but was unsure about who uses saws for climbing and craning over there)

Thanks,

TT

I bought Jonsered 2152 this summer, dont know how it compares on power output but it seems to perform well and I've no complaints bout it. As long as you keep it sharp I dont think you'll have any problem with it. I've also got 1985 model 2195 turbo which is still puling like a train, again it's not a Husky 395 but I like it!

The 2152 is the 353 only in prettier dress.

I'm not exactly sure about '85 models, but the 2195 model probably is the 395. The only real difference between the current Jons and Huskys is the color and covers.

Over here in the UK the Jonsereds seem to be rated below Huskys and stihl , I have no idea why, but they are cheaper so I dont really care. A Forestry company I worked for ran all Jonsereds while I was there with no probs which is why I converted to them.

the last few husky saws i have bought haven't imo been all that good.to many silly probs.i think the next saws for me will be jonsered or stihl ..i think jonsered are made in the same factory ..i am certain the 7900 is realy the same as a 372

Agreed the Huskys quality control seem to have gone to hell in a handcart, I tried out a 372 and the carb hadnt even been set up, both L and H screws were wound right home, so the bugger wouldnt run at all. Chippertech sell Jonsereds at a good price, and I dont get paid to say that!

i've had nothing but trouble with my husky 357, think im going to go for the stihl 260 next

new huskies

we have found that the 357s are more unreliable than the 254s. and the 385 seems profoundly gutless compared to the old 288. not my saws so i will leave it to the boss as to what to do.

he runs huskies as all teh parts are then semi compatable. well apart from the 200t, the blower and hedge trimmers which are stihls)

I agree the huskys now aren`t as good as they used to be.I dont think you could better than the 254xpg just a shame they stopped making it.
Jonsereds are good saws IMO but so are the stihls.

Husky's

I've been running a 51 and 55 with out any problems. They been dependable for me. I've just purchased a 860 with a 36" bar. It's a great work horse.

one of my workers/ climber/arbo uses his 365 on my jobs, i just love it when he has to pull it over a few times:laugh:  he just wont here a bad word about em

This thread has gone from "which of the same two saws should I get?" to uninformed Husky owners bashing The Saw Company...

I was on a job yesterday where I'd have loved to closely compare my 036 to a 359, but he just couldn't keep the saw running. Oh well, they must be better.

This is one of the current E-Tech (or whatever they're called) saws. Hasn't it been reported they have catalyst exhausts?

Most people ease into being an aggravating smartass. This guy has done it right out of the blocks.
