A lot of Husqvana 272 parts will bolt right on and will have the same parts number.
This video might be helpfull:
Hope you cylinder is in good shape. 670 specific parts are mostly NLA...

NLA = No Longer Available. It is unlikely that anyone will produce new Jonsered-specific parts

NLA ?
So parts are available but Jonsrud stopped production so is Husquvarna going to make parts and do factory/technical support ?

Basically you have about 10-15 years after a model run has ended until the original manufacturer no longer supports that model with parts. By that stage the model is " obsolete".
You have the double whammy of the parent company of that model no longer exists.

On the plus side for you as 2StrokeFondler pointed out and by linking that video- the 670 shares some major parts with the mid range 2 series Husqvarnas.
You have to provide your own technical support and research, but the general family of saws is well supported with secondhand parts and aftermarket parts- some parts are still available in OEM form.
You will find it a lot easier to find information if you start typing Jonsered instead of Jonsrud though.

I’m going to guess that I’ll be better off buying a 2 series Husquvarna over any 670 Jonsered.

If you buy the 670- you basically ARE buying a 2 series Husqvarna- watch the video linked above- that will explain most of it.
True there are some differences between the 670 and say the close cousin 268 or 272, mainly around the intake manifold and the fact the Jonsered impulse has a separate tube line to pump the carb and the Husqvarna's do so through a solid block. The Husqvarna's have a trigger lock to hold fast idle position- the Jonsereds do so off the choke lever being pulled- but that is about it and each can be swapped for the other with a bit of mickey mousing.
Your one true advantage, is often the Jonsereds will fly somewhat beneath the radar and not command the same resale value that the two Husqvarna's might- they are a popular saw still.

Your money, your choice and you are free to buy whichever you wish- but if the 670 is a runner and reasonably clean at what you think is a fair price with serviceable bar and chain- I would not pass it up due to any perceived lack of dealer support.

I bought a 670 champ non running. I will say this. What a freaking pita to find the right parts sometimes.

Things changed over the series and made it tough. 670 had like 2 different clutch covers with 2 different handles and parts.

Other wise nice saws and like the updates they did over husky 2 series.

Think someone posted they used 3 different cylinders too. Where I saved my info researching. http://chainsawrepair.createaforum.com/jonsered/jonsered-670-625/

That’s what my main concern is. I don’t want a PITA everytime I need to find a part. Hence it makes more sense to spend the money on a Husquvarna.
