Guys is a jonsered 670 partswise the same saw as a husky 266, will the top plastic cover off a 670 fit the husky.?? thanks frank

670

I have never seen a husky that looks like my 670 and not saying there is not one i just have not seen it if there is. The engine parts are the same the way im told but thats about it I think.

Sort of the same. Basic chassis is pretty much the same...case halves, rotating assy, jug, carb etc. You can put all of the Jonsered covers, tank, etc on a husky, or vice versa, but they all need to go together...cant mix and match.

Do you have a junk 670? I'm looking for a rebuildable core...I have an extra 272 husky jug, carb and piston, want a Jonsered 625/630/670 carcass to build on. I think I have a top cover for either a 268 or 272 laying somewhere.

I would be interested in those 272 parts you speak of for a 272 I have that needs freshened up on the top end. I have 4 bottom end 272 class assy's I picked up in a lot of parts I bought one time, I have not cleaned them up and checked out exactly what they are yet, could be a 266 mixed in there. I could check and see and if so see if its any good. you can PM me or email me if you want to follow up on this.

I'm mostly interested in keeping the 272 Jug: I have a stock 670 and want one w/ 272 top end on it too. When I find a repairable core, I want to send the whole works out to be "massaged".

The 670 has closed loop transfers like the 266/268xp. There was also a plain-jane 268 with open transfers. Same bore on all three.
