Nope, I'm not dead.

Just picked up a new/old toy. Nice green and blue Homelite XL-103. Needs some TLC, but then so I would I if I had been kept in a shed for 30 years.

I just can't keep away from these things.

Hi, John, I've just started collecting saws as a hobby. I aquired a Homlite, 600 D, chainsaw on Dec, 6th. Have gone through and cleaned up the saw, did some minor repairs and had it started for the first time on christmas day. Had to repair the magneto coil, install a new muffler, rebuild the carburetor and do work on the rewind. But she sounds strong. The bar is not anything to look at, pretty worn, but will sufice. I'm trying to obtain saws prior to 1960. The older the better. The fellow, who had the saw, said that parts were no longer available for it, but the guys here at ArboristSite are very helpfull on getting you any information, concerning chainsaws, but as an MVP. you know that. I've picked up a lot of info from this site, some I agree with, some I question, some I find very humoros, but all interesting. Guess now I'll be looking for another saw to restore. My wife, keeps telliing me to quit ordering parts and points her finger at me, tells me she's going to umplug this computer, but at least she has a smile. Since I''m retired, she knows it gives me something to do. Have to love a woman like that. Good luck on your saw and take care. Lewis.
