Well I am very exited to finally have a mid sized saw. I can now set up the 3120xp for milling and have the 372xpw for bucking logs and not have to switch bars multiple times in the field. I wanted to share my pricing findings with you guys because I was very suprised how different the prices were.

These prices were power head only b/c I ordered a 30" .063 hardnose Cannon bar and that is not a common stock item.

Husky shop down the street $830
Husky shop across town $785
Woods logging 1 hr drive away $750 reg $720 with company discount
Madsens http://www.madsens1.com/ 1.5 Hr drive $681.00

The guys at madsens know there stuff and just bought pallets of 372xp's since they are being discontinued for EPA reasons.

I could not believe that there was $150 difference and what an awsome saw shop. This place is a saw shop the size of a Home depot with every Stihl and Husqvarna saw made at amazing prices:dizzy:.

I should get the bar in the mail today and I will post some pics when I get it all together. Can't wait to cut some wood.:chainsaw:

Yeah, Grinding stumps below ground level and cutting them off. I always seem to be cutting in crappy conditions so I thought I would get a bar for it.

Aha... that would be a good reason.

I know what you mean about Madsen's.. They should issue napkins at the door to sop up drool. I visited a couple years ago when I was out there on vacation.

You will love the 372XP, it was my primary saw when I was sawing for a logging outfit, had a 28" bar on it, great for the small and mid sized timber. Perfect power to weight, good for falling, bucking, and limbing. Limbing with the 395xp is a bit of a arm workout.

Too bad that its being discontinued.

Two Words... Woods Port. You'll like it even more. :)

I had Walkers port and polish my 3120 and I was very impressed so I will probably have them do this one eventually.

I got the bar in the mail yesterday and put a chain on it. WOW it is going to be so nice to have a lighter saw. I have been using the heavy 3120 for everything and the 372 is so much more comfortable.

So question for all you saw experts, is there a break in process for a new saw? Do I need to take it easy at first or just go for it? I have some big wood to cut this weekend.

I have a pro saw builder that I get to do my stuff, just because he's local, but I've dealt Walker's as well and they are top notch.

As for break in, it's first tank should be double mix and don't mill with it. Bucking firewood is a good way to break in a saw.

Double mix? Never heard of that unless you're trying to fog for mosquitoes of course. I agree about the milling. Just gas it up with fresh good quality mix and use it like you normally would. I don't think new saws require much of a break in procedure at all, just let'er eat and don't hog her in to harshly for a tank or three.

I paid more for my 372 in B.C. but its a great saw, well worth it. I wanted to buy one in the States, but I was worried about customs fees. I bought some tires down there last year and paid almost 20% in taxes to get them across the border....I still saved money though:dizzy:

I've bought 2 saws in Madsen's. A 372XPW earlier this year and an MS460 last year. Saved a bunch over our prices  I normally leave a day aside for the visit now!
