Looking into a new lanyard.... Using a steelcore 13mm flipline with a petzl mechanical adjuster for several years now. Recently went to a micro pulley and an HRC Valdotaine tresse on the same lanyard. Looking for something thinner/lighter. Anyone have any suggestions? Thanks!

sherrill has a 11.7mm flipline with a wirecore and a ultra light swivelling eye aluminum carabiner, That along with a small ascender like the ropeman, trango cinch , or a small rope grab would be pretty light. Beastmaster

ART Positioner all the way ...

Pricy but worth it, the ART positioner offers the major advantage of smooth release while under pressure. I have not given up my wire core lanyard but adding the positioner has made many situations easier to deal with. Probably half the weight of my cable cored flip line and definitely easier to work with.

I use 11mm static line and a distal hitch from Sta-Set on a biner. Trigger-snap for the slack tending. Static flips fell and it is a nice light set-up. Cheap too.

I like to use speaker wire and a few knots. Or when the jobs get big I like to use me some tow chain............

But really I usually take a length of about 15ft spare rope put a splice on the end and use my micrograb. Its pretty light and relatively cheap to replace.

I agree, after you use one of those you probably won't go back to anything else. I make my own flip lines out of 1/2" stable braid and use the ART.
