Any of you guys ever try a lawn vacuum. Every time I see one I always wonder if it could be beneficial or more time efficient than raking. Kinda wondering if it would pick up twigs leaves and saw dust.

Dont do it, I bought a Billy Goat commercial lawn vacuum some years ago, works unbelievably good on leaves, and unbelievably bad for sticks! Sold it a mower outfit and they love it!

I don't see how a small one would be a bad idea. Do your raking first, then finalize the small shavings left over with the vac.

A truck loader would work ok but not a walk behind vac. You still have to get the stuff to the vacuum though, not worth it I dont think?

I had both, truck loader and the walk behind (I bought the hype!) The truck loader worked really good until 1 stick gets caught, then it plugs real fast and the plug is always in the middle of the tube! The walk behind worked good too, until the bag gets dirty, then it cannot keep the materiel in the back of the bag and gravity takes over, it falls to the front and you will plug the entrance.
I tried the big one on stumps, notta. too heavy. They are good machines and like I said the out fit that I sold them too, still has them. They are great for leaves and saw dust, but that's about it. The one thing that did work good is turning the loader into a blower, flip the hose and you have the biggest lawn blower on the planet! That thing will blow off a yard in a hurry!

quickest clean up I've seen was with one of those big zero turn ride on mowers.

Failing that, a few guys with rakes and bags, and a serious blower - not a little handheld but a big backpack. There's not too much mess a crew cant sort out in half an hour. The key is being systematic, work from the back to the front, and work in a row if its a big yard. Pile in sensible places. I use builders bags or big wheelie bins. If customers are really fussy I lay out big tarps. I don't get many customers that fussy though.
