I have a leaking fuel cap-- its on a stihl 460 . Thing is I had to get the replacement handle /tank assy and couldnt get a OEM one per my dealer, so I had to get an after market one off of Amazon. A friend says he has one that will just screw in that doesnt have the flip lock mechanism but he doesnt want to part with it. Anyone have one like it or know where I might get one? If I could have gotton an OEM handle / tank I am sure it wouldnt leak. In the mean time I am gonna change the o ring to maybe a larger size ifin I can find one. Any info is appreciated

The flip lock type expands the o-ring. When my ms250 started leaking I replaced the o-ring with the closest size I could find at my local hardware store, and that fixed the leak. Not sure if the 250's style cap is the same as your 460.

Have you tried ebay?

Either of you seen a cap that will just screw in there with no flip lock ?
I think I saw a screw in cap on ebay when I was looking for a new cap for my ms250. Don't remember any specifics - if what I saw would even fit a Stihl saw - you know how ebay works - you search for something specific and any of the words in your search will bring up all kinds of things - related to your wants or not.
