Lickity Log Splitter repair or parts list manual.

I recently got this log splitter through some bartering and want to know more about the thing. Splits anything I throw at it from my woods. My plan is to restore it to it's original form. I know it was built in Piqua, Ohio but that's all I know about it.
Any info would be helpful and greatly appreciated. Thanks for your time in regards to this thread.

I have on that was made in the 50's. My problem is I can't get parts for it, because no body makes them anymore. My spring broke in side the large cylinder that retracts the wedge. Unless somebody knows where I can get a spring for it.

I have had one of these for a couple decades has never given me much trouble. When it broke the return spring I replaced with an old garage door spring that I cut down to length. It has been working like this for at least 10 yrs. The spring return is so fast compared to most others. I do not have a manual as I bought used.

did you know that it will drop right down on the ground for big logs to be rolled up on it?
used one when I was a kid back in the 70's
last I heard it went to NY state up by Alder Brook somewhere and disappeared, never to be seen again.

The previous owner had welded the axle to the tank before we bought ours. I now know what the extra things were used for. That he gave us when we bought it. We always thought it was for some sort of lifting mechanism. Still the best splitter I have ever used.

Funny your request should just turn up I just made a post about the Lickety splitter that I've had for over 50 years I have a bunch of exploded diagrams mine was made about 1968 I have diagrams for a bunch of the gasoline powered motor splitters from Casey look for my blog on lickety-splitters in my request I just posted it September 20th about 4:00 California time more than happy to help you these things are a real Gem and there is a spring manufacturer and all my paperwork it gives you the size of the Springs size of your O-rings everything again I do not have an electric one but the mechanical parts of the Splitters are pretty much all the same the garage door springs are a very good idea Lickety be more than happy to give you information I'm trying to identify which model I have all's I have is an ID number that stamped into the brackets at the butt end of the ram

I used garage door springs, just have to get the ones with j hook

The linkage is the key to the whole thing I've been tearing mine apart piece by piece I finally figured out exactly how the flows work and it's actually very simple once you figure out what goes where when the levers are thrown I would love to send you my copies as soon as I get to a place where I can scan them and then send them to you I'll be more than happy to do so I am an internet desert So please bear with me to when I can get to all that Please bear with me it will take a little while for me to get this part together The linkage is very straightforward Once you look and see how the flow goes The trip linkage Is the key And your Springs are also very instrumental I'm glad you replied I was beginning To wonder if anybody else out there was working on them I've been working with a hydraulic shop to test out every segment of mine since it sat for so long I've tested the pump is next After this I will tear the whole main RAM apart and put O-Rings in it Hang tight I Work on this
