Thinking about trying one. But I don't know where to start. All stihl mount, 362-661. Probably start with a 24/25".

What's out there and where to get it from?

i was thinking about buying a 24" for my 044. was looking at this:
https://www.stihlusa.com/products/chain-saws/guide-bars/eslight/
I was talking with my Stihl dealer here, and i think that they where like $160 Cdn that's what held me back. might almost be better to just buy a Cannon Bar i was kinda thinking.
I bought a new Canon Superbar from a member $100 if I remember. Can get Total LW from ford150 for less than that.

I put a Stihl 28" bar on my 044.
It's not a lightweight and some times I wish it was.
Mine was $150 CAD with two 28" chains from my Stihl dealer here in Ontario

I haven't got a ton of time on them but I like them a lot. Saws balance better and the price was right. The Stihl ES bar I had was nice but they are heavy. I've heard good things about the Stihl ES Light but I got a pretty good deal on these and I wanted to try them.
I might get the 32" ES light to try on the 661, but the other 2 are priced a bit lower.

I believe Redbull661 has a thread with all the weights and some other detailed info on all the lightweight bars.

Check some threads where the actual weight of bars is shown, Redbull has done some good threads on the subject. While Sugi & Tsumura make top quality stuff, their light bars are far from light compared to Stihl, Oregon or even laminate options. If you want a light bar try to end up with a bar that's actually light! lol.

Very true about the weight. The Sugihara and Tsumura LW bars may not be as light, but they sure are crazy strong bars with hard rails. I think Julian's tests showed the LW Tsumura bars yielded him his best results.

The Stihl Lights are nice but pretty spendy. I got a 36 Tsumura Light and Tough .063 like new with 6 Stihl RS chains from a member. Only use it when needed but like it a lot.

I believe HLS sells Sugihara.
@fordf150 sells the Total bars.
Total may be getting phased out to become a regular Tsumura bar, but I am not positive on that.
Just FYI, Nate is great to do business with. Great seller. [emoji106]
You can confirm with Nate on status of Total. His store Performance Outdoor Equipment in Ohio. Showed 20" Total Light for Stihl.
