I depends on what crew you get on. In the Mtn's there is equal oppertunity. There are pick up crews which do all the climbing that the bucket or trimmer can't reach.

Cool, line dudes. I guess its about the same now as it was before. And why wouldn't it be? ;)

Another question; Awhile back I made a post about the merits of having a pair of hot gloves in your truck and it seemed no one thought they were necessary.

I believe they are just as important as any other piece of gear in your arsenal.

Any thoughts on Hot Gloves? :blob2:

Hot Gloves?! Thanks, MB! Even though I never 'plan' on playing in the wires, in 30+ years I must admit having to, on occasion. (It's amazing what kind of licks electrical wires can take.) A couple of weeks ago we had a rigged limb go 90 degrees off course. We still had the weight off the wires but the limb was large enough that we couldn't lift it to clear without damage. So, here I am playing around in the wires.
Don't count me among those who think those gloves are unnecessary. I do hope they are, but starting tomorrow, I'll have a pair with me. Actually, kinda stupid not to have thought of carrying them before.
Thanks again!

At the very least, they are an additional piece of safety gear that can be used when deemed necessary.

At the most, they can be just as important as your lifeline or your lanyard.

BTW, those plastic handgun cases are excellent for storing your hotgloves.

i dont have hotgloves. i used those blue palmed wells lamont gloves when i climb. besides, its only the hot wires you gotta worry about:D

Depends on the area. Where I work as you get to the more developed areas there is more climbing. As you get to the countryside, there is more bucket work. Also depends if you work for a sissy foreman that is afraid to get the truck stuck. I say if you never get stuck you will never know what you are capable of driving through!

When I worked with you we took the truck every place we could get it to go. LOL and some places that it didn't want to.:D

Well welcome to the site Ken. I guess you still have an interest in trees after all! ;)
