Hello,

First I just want to say thanks for any help up front. I have a wallenstein WX520 and I am needing to put a log loft on it. I’m going to attach a pic of it.

It has a Honda 160cc 5.5hp engine with a two stage pump.
I’m wanting to add a hydraulic log lift on the side and I’m not sure what I should be looking for concerning the control valves.

Such as pressure rated? It already as auto return.

Anyway, any help would be appreciated.

I guess I am wondering is I assume my hydraulic tank would be big enough already?

Where your control handle is that runs the ram cylinder. You should need a probably 3/4 nipple that should screw into your valve and that in your new controller. Either that or get a double handle valve control

I see what your saying. If I get a different control valve is there a pressure rating or anything

I think you can get one for a log splitter. I have one I had bought to do what you want, but I just bought a new splitter. It’s just a single control that you screw on to the one you have by the nipple or you can get a double already done. Don’t know how much different in price. I bought mine from northern Hydraulic’s.

I appreciate that

You can't just thread the return of one valve into the supply of another valve. Like del mentions, you either need to get a power beyond capable valve, then feed the splitter valve off the power beyond port, or you need to get a tandem valve (which won't likely have auto return.) Or get a priority valve and split off half a gpm for the lift. I did the power beyond option on my splitter. Was the cheapest way to do things, but I had to add a flow limiter to the lift, other wise it sees the full 16gpm from the pump, and is more like a catapult when someone just grabs the lever without the flow limiter. The splitting cylinder works as normal.
