Can't you just pull the flywheel?Thank you. That would be great!
If it's off a small amount, it will be hard for you to tell exactly what's going on. Do you have a 3/8 impact gun?Thank you. That would be great!
Here's mine at TDC (as close as I could get it). You probably won't catch a few degrees off with your eyes, but if it's off by a lot I hope I could help.Thank you. That would be great!

Did you pull the muffler?

Thank you. Great pic! I'll give that a try, tomorrow. Busy day, today! Here's mine at TDC (as close as I could get it). You probably won't catch a few degrees off with your eyes, but if it's off by a lot I hope I could help.
Thank you. Great idea!Run the entire wiring harness for continuity. It may look just fine but have one spot severed inside the plastic covering.
Thank you. Yes, have an impact gun. Just need to find some time! Found these instructions on removing muffler: "Nothing but three screws and the muffler screws. Take the two screws out of the bottom of the saw, the ones that hold the tank to the case. Take the one screw out of the plastic covers on the side of the saw just below the clutch. The two muffler bolts are accessed through holes in the bottom of the tank. It's a 5 minute job, max." Copy? Can't you just pull the flywheel?

Basically yes, it's going to a bit tight but is doable. There is a metal gasket in there also. I would do the easier flywheel removal first. I take the whole handle assembly off when I do it, but the way you described will get you access to see the piston.Thank you. Yes, have an impact gun. Just need to find some time!
