Howdy Folks,
I finished up two similar log piles so far and now I'm working on this one. Its stuff the loggers left behind. I'm really having a blast on these piles. I just need a bigger saw. Also this is the first time I have will have posted a picture. I hope it works. Only took about 30 or 40 minuets to upload. View attachment 40639

Use your microsoft picture editor, or any editor for that matter to resize it to 640X480 and you will upload those babies in like 30 seconds. It takes it from a 1Meg or so file to like a 150K file, about 1/10 the size and still a good quality. Wish you were close by dude, I'd be thefting that wood too, lmao. :D

Good score on the free wood. By the looks of the wood your cutting I would say in the Stihl lineup a 361, 440, 441, 460 is what you would need.

In the husky lineup a 357, 359, 365, 575 would fit the bill.

Hey cisco,
I dont think I have a photo editor software. I can build and repair computers and run quite a few different software applications but I never really played with pictures besides downloading them off the camera. I'm also on a dail up connection so that slows things down. Does this photo editing software come with windows XP?

Rest assured I'm not thefting the wood. This is my neighbors farm and he said he was going to burn them up unless I wanted them. I guess he considers them a hazzrd to his cattle and just taking up pasture.

Howdy Bostonbull,
I have been watching the trading post and see you circulate a good many saws. I'm in the process of getting a big stihl but I almost PM'ed you on that 575 husky. I think you are right though on your saw selection for this wood. I move it all by hand with a 6 foot steel bar. I cut it with my echo 510. Someday I may have better equipment like a tractor but for now I do it manually. I'm still in the market for a 70 cc type saw. May have to PM you some day.

Nah dude, I didn't think you were bud. I cut from an old loggers leftover pile right now also. You should see the mess bro. As far as the software? If you have a premium copy of Office you will have microsoft picture manager, that will do it. Adobe photoshop etc... I'm putting a link below with free photo imaging software. Paint.NET, the third one down looked the best to me. Also, you can use microsoft paint and change the format from Jpeg to gif and will cut the size of the pic in half w/out much difference in quality. Just open with paint, then choose save as, then from the dropdown choose gif instead of the jpeg format, it'll convert it, and it built right into windows... Good luck eh?:givebeer: That's a nice pile of logs for leftovers. Heck, I've gotta go all over the place in the woodlot and cut up trees then haul them to my trailer...

Forgot to add, I'm buying the Dolmar 7900, 79cc's, $700. I've heard great things. Also look at the 7300, heard the rock also bro... I will tell you I loveeeeeeee my 044, same as MS440 and they are going away very soon so you might want to get one while you can...

Howdy Casey,

I tried that and resize is not one of the options that come up. I opened it and tried it to. It just doesnt come up as a choice. Is it linked to windows picture and fax viewer somehow?

Well, You got the extent of my computer knowledge there in my last post!!!!

I dont think I ever downloaded anything to be able to re-size pics...Sorry I cant help anymore than that.

Hey cisco,

Its cool here, I will try some of the things you mentioned, thanks. I would like to know what you think of that 7900 when you get it. Maybe its the "Secret Weapon Saw".

I'm just a poor boy though and have to buy things used. So I can't go get one of those things new. I have been squilling away for that used stihl for some time now.

If I get these pictures sorted out I will post some more.

Take Care

Casey,
That would explain it as I have automatic downloads turned off. It just takes to many hours to download stuff and it always gets disconnected. I just quite trying and turned it off so I can use my computer.

Sedanman,

Thanks I will try to download that one if its not to big.

Good good. Actually, I've never had a new saw in my life either bro. Everything, and I mean everything i have is used. This will be my first new one. I've actually been working my butt off all fall for it. The wifey is going to split the cost with me for christmas. We're both poor, lol... I just can't say I've heard anything bad about the new dolmar's at all. I'm gonna start a thread with only problems people have had with their Dolmar's so I can find out EVERYTHING that I could get in to. I can't wait to get my grubby hands on it though. Were I you, I'd save a little longer and buy a new one bro. If your going to save $400 for a used one, might as well save 6 and buy brand new and keep that baby polished from the gitgo. Just whatever you do, DON'T SPEND $500 ON A ms360...
