Oops sorry I must sound like im rambling and repeating things. My posts had to be approved, and when it took a while I assumed they were rejected for calling Murphy an idiot.

I have a 28' fiber glass extension ladder that I thought was all that. Put the ladder up, climb it and tie in with your harness.......sounds decent, right? Keep telling yourself that.:msp_scared: Once you're up there, the ladder does nothing but become a target for the branches and such to hit. It's a hindrance that gets in the way when you are working with a tree. Keep it sidelined for getting on a roof of a house and cleaning gutters.

Once you learn some basics, like the blakes hitch and body thrusting at the very least, its faster and SAFER to just set your rope and use the proper methods. That $300 aluminum ladder is a hazard around power lines. The money would have been better spent on some used gaffs and climbing gear.

Murphy's not an idiot he's just showing how stupid it is for people to use ladder's check out some of his other video's.

Can't imagine blocking down with an extension ladder. Got to get off ladder every time its adjusted for the next work position.
Hmmmm, maybe he's a non-climbing arborist and hauled his chubby butt up the tree just for the picture. Back down the ladder and hand the work back to Jesus and Ramon.
Perhaps a recent injury and just trying to get some work done without pulling on the spikes. I knew a contract climber who, for a month, did what ever it took to work without spikes after tearing up his knee. Had bills to pay. No mention of heavy limbs and blocking from a ladder though.

Most probable is often fact. Probable here... the man is a hack.

Or maybe he just put the ladder up there to top it out, came down, and fell the rest of it.

OR he's putting a rope in the top so his ground man can pull it over when he drops it.

No matter no certified arborist would use that picture as advertisement.

That really cuts to the core of it.
Advertising professional tree service, certified arb or not, only showing off ladder, rope, and saw, is sketchy ain't it? Where is the half ton rot box pickup with one ton of branches? Name and number scribbled on the door in magic marker?
I wonder how many CL big spenders saw the add and thought, "The pro uses a ladder. I have a ladder..."
