I haven't posted much, but am an avid reader of this site. Have picked up lots of info from you Xperts. Just thought I would show these saws.
Picked up 3 saws yesterday.
Old David Bradley, Homelite XP1020 Auto and a Partner
Bradley is free, has spark and good compression. 77cc and HEAVY Think it is about 1965 or so.
Xp 1020A is probably a parts unit, Will any parts fit my C5?
Partner runs strong, but can't find any numbers to identify the model. Does anyone have any ideas?

Thanks for any help.

Thanks for the come back. I had already looked the Homey and the David Bradley up on the site you noted.
The partner does not have a chain brake, I think the 500 does.

it is much older than the 500, one of the early R16-family ones......

Does it have any anti-vibe?

The Partner DOES NOT appear to have any anti-vib. Everything on it seems to work. It is a strong runner, oil pump puts out lots of oil. The bar & sprocket are in good condition, but the chain is shot. It is stretched and sharpened down pretty far.

I have checked the collectors website, but will again to look for when they started putting chain brakes on the Partners.

Would like to know where any numbers by which I can identify it are located.
Thanks for the help, I really enjoy reading the posts here. I use my saws for farm cleanup and firewood cutting. Mostly oak and hedge (Osage Orange) for firewood. Assorted crap for farm cleanup.

My saws: XL,SuperXLauto,C5, XP1020Auto, ProMac 435, David Bradley, Craftsman auto sharp, Partner and Stihl Ms260pro

Looking for a reasonable Mac 3-25. That was the first chainsaw we bought in 1950, sure beat the crosscut we were using..

The Partner saw is an R16.

Thanks for the help SawTroll.

Need to open the old Homelite XP1020 Auto up to see what its problems are.
It is really dirty and the chain is rusty, so has been sitting around for quite awhile. May be beyond fixing and may have to go to the old Parts Bin in the Sky.

Thanks again guys for the help on the Partner identification.

The David Bradley is top notch. I fondly remember when I was 7 years old and my father brought home a huge David Bradley that he had borrowed from an old farmer. We had a house built on a large wooded lot and the builders left HUGE oak and maple trees in a pile on the back of the property. I can remember my dad swearing up a storm trying to get that saw started. Then the weeks of him working his way through this mountain of huge trees....finally to split tall he logs with a wedge and sledge. He is 70 now and was using my ms660 last weekend to help me tackle some big trees. He brought out the same wedges and sledge that he used many many years ago. All I heard during our 'union breaks' was about how heavy the david bradley was, how hard it was for him to get it started and how he was afraid to shut it down for fear it wouldn't start again and finally, what an easy saw the MS660 was to use. I asked about that old saw and if the farmer (had long passed) or his family still had the saw.....all I heard was "I don't even want to see that thing again". Very cool Saw BirdHunter

That's how most people that have run a Bradley feel!

J/K of course, Dad has had one longer than he has been married to my mother. He sure does like my stihl's though.;)

Nice score Birdhunter!

Is a stronge running Partner R16 worth anything more than what I want it for? To put in my collection of saws. It feels pretty good, need to put a new chain on it and take ot out to the woods and try cutting oak and hedge. See how it does then. Oh, well I am happy I don't have much in it, so will just put it on the shelf with the rest of my oldies.
