I am looking to upgrade my saddle sometime soon. I dont really do any removals, its all deadwooding and demossing. I have the Buckingham wideback/floating D now, and it really seems to pinch on my hips and upper inner thighs. I have been looking at the Treemotion, and the Petzle Sequoia. I have read a lot of good things about the Treemotion, but I am a little leery of the rope bridge. I have read somewhere (not even sure if it was a one in particular or rope bridges in general) of the bridge failing. There are so many choices out there I am not really sure where to start, and there is nowhere for me to see/try the harness in person. So its going to be a gamble and I would like to get it right on the first try. Just looking for suggestions and or personal experience. Price is a factor but on same note I believe you get what you pay for. I just want to make sure the money is well spent. Thanks in advance.

On rope bridges, I don't have one but I had a guy who does say he replaces his bridge and I think they all need to be replaced, depends on how much you use it/how you store it. He uses safety blue line and uses that as a guide as to when he should replace it. I'm personally not a fan of having to replace part of my saddle every month or so.

I have an Ergovation and love it i've never had a problem with my bridge however i use a micro mouse pulley so it don't wear out as fast but i do change it occasionally and i know guys that use the treemotion and like it. The ones with the failing bridge is the Weaver Cougar.

+1 ergovation with floating D's. could sit in it all day. leg straps are low so they dont tend to ride on the boys. velcro everywhere so they get stuck to one another sometimes. you get what you pay for.

Thanks for the input, I will look into the ergovation as well. There may be a place that carries Buckingham locally that I may be able to look at them.

Take A look At the Edge Saddle By Buckingham and Sherrill Tree. They upgraded a few parts and made it even better. I have been climbing on it now for about 8 months its extremely comfortable weighs about 5lbs and is similar to the petzl sequoia but quite a bit tougher. It has taken a lot of abuse so far and still looks brand new its also cheaper than the overpriced Sequoia. Good luck with what ever you end up with....

Yea was gonna say take a look at the edge saddle been climbing with it for about the same amour eight month or more really like it

After much debate over the Ergo and edge......I went with a Buck (A.M.T)Pinnacle Deluxe from Sherrill.
I like the seat it has. its very comfy & easily adjustable.
I also like the shape of the d's and size.
It can support you with them appart also for double crotching.
I know its not on your lineup....as it wasn't on mine at first....but give it a hard look.
Its an excellent saddle.
