So I just bought a house and have a few large trees that I'm thinking could use some attention. Small lot, little less than 3/4 acre with about 6 trees needing work, largest having a rough diameter of 3'. Anyone calling themselves a tree service can show up, fire up the saw, and start hacking away, but that doesn't mean they're doing it right. I do not know enough about trees and what branches/limbs should and shouldn't be cut in order to keep the tree healthy but i do know that alot of trees left growing wild could end up shortening their own life span so I'm calling on you guys for help. What questions do I ask the potential arborist to make sure I'm not getting a hack that's gonna damage the trees? Certifications to ask for?
