I'm looking fo a paint number or possibly a part number to order some Lime Green Paint for my Poulan Saw. Any suggestions, other that using it for a boat anchor. I have a local fellow who services them that is trying to find it for me and will order it if he can find a part number to use. I called Poulan, and the lady, I talked to, says that the parts are all painted from the suppliers when they get them in to assemble them. She had no idea for a part number or paint code. Has anyone found a paint that will match, that could be used. All I want to do is touch up the bottom of the saw and repair a couple paint chips. Thanks and take care. Lewis.

Saw Paint

Lewis:

You should be able to match the paint at a good automotive paint store. Many can put a spectra analyzer on it and match it perfectly.

I recently bought a new 440 and while they took it back to service it someone must have dropped the saw on the little tab that protects the oil cap. I didn't notice until I got the saw home and later took the muffler off to modify. I couldn't even get the oil cap off. That cast metal won't bend back so it broke off when I tried. I 'J.B.-welded' it and touched it up with some paint I had mixed to match Stihl white. It's expensive stuff, (Dupont Centari system, very durable) but not long ago I bought a couple of saws off Ebay that really needed a lot of work and painting. It does match exactly.

You can see the J.B.Weld joint in the picture, but only by the texture difference, not the color.

The fellow that mixed it was very confident he could match any color. I'm sure most good automotive paint stores would have the same capabilities.

Thanks for the suggestion. I checked at Walmart and Advanced Auto, just quickly checking out what they had in spray paint cans in their displays. Nothing close. I believe the local NAPA store may be able to match the paint. Not sure. I'll take the air cleaner covet in and see what they come up with. Might also check on the price of an air brush, while I'm at it. I called Poulan, no luck. The fellow who was going to try and order the paint for me, hasn't been able to find any info, either. So I'll check with NAPA and see what they can do. Thanks for the suggestion. Your repair job looks great. I've used JB weld for repaires on a cople occasions. The stuff works great. Lewis.

I mixed my own for an 066 Stihl I was fixing up.
I used some white rust paint and added some grey rust paint unitl I thought it was close, then I did a trial and see how it matched up to a new Stihl I had. Took a few tries, but eventually, I got it. Looks like a Stihl factory finish

I was thinking that if I couldn't get any regular Poulan Paint or get any paint to match it, that I might try getting some green and yellow paint and mix it myself fo see what I could do to match it up as close as I could. I may just do that, because I have an old Bolens saw coming in July that is painted green and yellow, that will probably need paint also. I'll give the fellow who is trying to order the paint for me a few days and then see what I can do to match it myself. I'll try NAPA, to see if by chance they can match it also. But looks like I may have to match it up myself. Thanks for your suggestion. I'll let you know how I come out. Lewis.
