Drummer - thanks for the link, that is the one I was looking for.

Mike - I'm open to suggestions but just have not had time to research. What else is out there that is inexpensive, yet effective like sta-set?

Sherrill and some other sponsors are offering more and more cords, some highly specialized as Mike references. Personally i like a type of Icicle or Sailor's Gripping(both self tending very well IMLHO) Hitch in 3/8" Tenex(Sherrill/Samson); with hand tied double or triple nooses for eyes. i think the way it flattens out and bends easily around the tight bight of a 1/2" line the Tenex maintains more of it's 5k per leg strength than other stiffer and rounder (as separate compounding factors against themsleves) lines. i also think the flat footprint grabs the line differently/better than stiffer/ round cords; especially in the tight bight we place this device to.

I got some of the HRC (brown, fuzzy, Heat Resistant Cord), I forget where. Everyone was saying how well it lasts, so I was going to prove them wrong and burn it up. Boy was I wrong, it really lasts.
Not cheap to buy, but cheap because it outlast the other cords.
