I currently work for a dealership and my knowlege is geared towards one make. I couldnt survive working at pep boys having to work on other make vehicles. Dont get me wrong i work on them on the side all the time but on the side i can take my time. Having to diagnose and repair a veh that i dont know would starve me being that almost all reputible companies only pay comission. And i spent most of the past two weekends giving the ol car a freshin up so ill be headed towards the track anyway. Ha pray that nothing breaks. Thanks for everyones input.

You are killing me with the can't do attitude. Not to change the subject but you are selling yourself short. Cars? They are all the same, figure one out, you can do another. Doing that is easier than starting up tree service company.

Ill agree that just changing parts is about as easy from one to another. But the diagnostics is a whole different animal. And im usually a pretty positive person. My boss asked me two weeks ago if i would put a timing belt on a Hyundai. I told him sure i can figure it out. When done the owner asked if we could diag the check engine light. Took me three hours to diag it and i was only paid an hour for the diag charge. Thats two hours that i worked for free. Had it been my brand it woulda been out the door in less than the hour that it payed for diag. Not trying to be negitave at all.
