Been shopping for a larger capacity saw for some time and came across a guy selling his 385xp on craigslist of all places. Came with two bars, alot of chains (several look to be brand new) and all for a really sweet deal.
Went to see it and was shocked by the condition - LOW hours for sure, the saw has hardly a mark on it and the rim and chain guide plate show little use.
Ran the saw, runs very well, was maybe a hair on the rich side and I will tune as needed. My question is whether anyone has data on the build dates for these saws with lower bearing issues? Looking around I get mixed opinions on when Husqvarna updated and rectified the problem. This saw is an August 2004 build, single owner and very little time on it - I'd really like to make it my go-to saw going forward but I want to cover my bases and conduct all the preventative work I can right up front so I can run er for a good long time.
Any help greatly appreciated folks, Thanks
