hope you've got roughly 5K sitting around.

I can get them from altec for around 4 shipped to my house. Remember seeing a post from pw repair with a price of 2775$. Are they still in business there website doesn't work and the phone number wont go through.

I dunno about them, or if they are still in biz. Are you going to replace them yourself?

I don't know you, or what your qualifications may or may not be. I myself would leave that job to a professional shop.

I was in the heavy equimpment field before I realized trees paid better. I can always call in a favor if needed. But as for the cables is altec gunna be my.best bet? Or only bet?

All I know is that it's aircraft grade cable. I imagine you can get the mfg specs and look around for different suppliers. I imagine that you can get a custom order from more places than just Altec. I had an LRIII It was a nice boom, never did the cables though, just kept it inspected and maintained.

I believe Altec is the only supplier of those cables. $4000 plus $1000 to install. I have a friend who's business it is fixing and selling these trucks. If anyone would have found a better options he would have but he buys them from Altec.

I hear ya. Do all cable have dates on them? I'm asking because I'm looking to buy a bucket truck soon and assessing the longevity of the boom is a factor.
