Over years I have always stayed away from the Mac saws but lately they I have been accumulating more and more. I picked up a 3-10DSP yesterday. What does the DSP stand for ?
Is the is model any good ?
Lastly and most important it does not have spark so I need an ignition module for it. Does it interchange with any other models ? I was going to just pass on the saw but it is actually very clean and I want to see how it runs.

As far as I know, all of the 10 series saws use the same mag coil .I recently used a 10-10 coil on a super pro 81.I haven't looked it up but I think the Sp 105 and 125 also use this coil .I will look up the numbers and make a post after work today.

The coil will be one of the following numbers>87246a[sp-81],69798[1-10,2-10,3-10],84972[5-10 6-10 7-10 sp 125]85243 [sp 105].Although they are different numbers,I do believe they will all interchange with one another.I have no idea what DSP stands for. That saw,as I understand it,should be basicaly a 10-10,with 3.3 cu in engine .Produced between 1966 and 1968.They have plenty of power, for a small saw.The odjectable thing is no anti-vib and they are noisey.

I found the 10-10 and it had great spark. I decided to check the 3-10 again before swapping modules. The 3-10 has intermittent spark. I was always under the assumption that they should either have spark or not.
