Mac 310E Help me out on this one

New one on me I never knew there was an electric start Mac. What can you guys tell me about this. I just picked one up and would like to know how this worked. I saw were it was only made for a little over a year, or am I wrong about tha?

What do you want to know? They were sold for several years but I don't know how many years they were produced. I had one and also had ES Jonsereds, Poulans and an ES Skill

How?

How does the electric start work? What are they worth running? Anything any one can tell me about them. Is it rare?

I don't know how rare they are now but they didn't used to be. And they run like a regular 310

Mac made a 3-10E, 5-10E and 10-10E. I have a few. The battery packs are a problem but I have heard the can be rebuilt/repacked. I have one 3-10E that a guy put a lamp cord on so he could jump start it with a 12v. I will tell you that spins quick.

I can rebuild/recell the batt packs but the jumper works better with a small cycle/atv battery. The ni cads don't have much oomph when new and do not last too long

The 3-10e was the world's first electric start chainsaw released about 1965 i too have one but battery packs are a problem great idea but it wasn't too last.
