Just wanted to post some pics of this fine saw I got from my buddy over the weekend. He is the one with cancer I posted about in the 066 for sale add. He took real great care with this one. It still has the same bar on it as he got it new. It runs great and looks just as good. I think this would be one saw that will never be sold. I picked this up from his brother who brought it to the Baraboo show this last week end for me. It was one of them deals I did not care how much it cost me.

That is truly one fine-lookin' Mac 700, Bob. They're a good working saw, too. An acquaintence who owns a right-of-way clearing company told me his crews used the Mac 700 exclusively from the time they first came out until last year, when they finally couldn't get replacement parts anymore. He kept one really nice one for himself when they switched over to the German saws and auctioned off all the 700's and spare parts. I learned about the sale a couple weeks after the fact.... It's one of the McCulloch models on my "want" list.

Yes, I agree, the 700 is an excellent saw. I have four and have just had to convince myself not to buy my fifth one today when I saw it for sale locally.I have a friend here who is an old logger-woodsman from way back and a Mac man to the bone. He has many Macs, big and small including: 797's, 125's, 250's,10-10's and a whole heap more, but his favourite is his old PM 700 that always travels around with him in his ute.
