Tpac,

I think the Mac guys threw a curve ball into this thread, I think they are talking Kart engines and were talking about saw carbs. The picture you posted of your carb is just a little different than mine. I really don't feel like taking mine back off to compare it up close, that is why I asked the question on how many different Mac carbs there are.

The Ax-man cometh

Hey Ax-man,
That thought never crossed my mind, but I am glad it crossed yours. I supposed it would help if we were all on the same page. At any rate, I just want to make me saw run  and I am pretty sure what part I need. I just need to know the proper name for the part and if it's even remotely possible that I will find what I need. I have learned a great deal in the two days I have been here and I appreciate everyone's input. Y'all have a good night and a good week,

The tank vent is normally in the centre of the filler cap, but it could be a small drilling under the edge of the cap.
The cap vent should be splinted (?) bronze if its inthe centre of the fuel cap.

Gday TPAC

Mate these rubber check valves won't be available till early Febuary as my order is amongst the first so if you would care to email a little later on in Feb i may have a spare or two.

Saw and Kart engines have a lot in common as they used the same basic engine configeration the pic of you carby is like half a BDC kart carby and they would no doubt use the same diaphram and metering plate with flapper valves, i have added a small pic of the valve in question hoping this helps.

If you look on Mike Acres site,in the carb. section,Walbro, model mac,is similar to the primer type.It may in fact be,minus the primer.

you know.. there are about twenty different carbs that look like that.. bdc-1 though bdc-21 if i remember.. i's sure like to know what the story is with these carbs.. and where i get some diaphragms. I have about four of these... in various versions.
