Okay,we've seen the big old Stihl 090's,how about some big Mac 125's?Here is my 2,with the little 'bro 105 sp.

I am out numbered

Steve, you rascal! Start a thread on 090's an get a zillion reponses, and none for the old Sp's.I must have the only 2 running in the world.:(

give me time. i'm searching for one. I've got a husky 3120xp to humiliate.

This one ran at Baraboo Aug 21. Couldn't stay with Steve's 090, even if it hadn't cut-out. This one was stuck when Paul found it, but he was able to knock it loose and get it to run. Steve, does she know your using her good bath towels to set your oily saws on?

Short bar

With that little bitty bar,if the saw was running right,should be able to pull a 10 pin.I use an 8,with a 36" ,in hard wood.Doesn't bog a bit.You said,the saw was stuck.I hope it's not a "c" model,with the chrome delamenating .

yeah, that 125 would have made short work of that with that bar. i was thinking that too. precisely what is "cut out"?

To "cut out" is to not make a full cut though the wood. The saw leaves the side of round before it hits the bottom. Did that make any sense?

not completely? the dogs must be inserted at all times or what? any cuts my buddies and i have timed i've moved around in the wood quite a bit...

If you make a full cut you end up with a piece if wood the same circumferance as the pice you cut it off of. If you "cut out" the piece you cut is smaller than the the one you cut it off. In a full cut you end up with a round "cookie" when you "cut out" the cookie is not round, it has a straight edge. I've had a few gin and tonics tonite this is the most technical I can get at the moment.

i see. you said side and mean the butt, or face. i understand now. a crooked or wedge cut..

SP what????

Steve here... again

here are the tymes from last years vintage direct drive class

Say what

Did you say 5" cottonwood,or was that ironwood?Did they have the chains on backwards:D

i could make that time with my 10-10. But, if i were running a 125 in 5" cottonwood, i'd prolly get one of the 12 inch s44a bars, and watch that ol' 125 roll infact, i'm willing to say i could make a 17 second cut on 5" cottonwood with a pm6..

Pshaw y'all

Humbug!!!You rascal,I know what you are up to.You want me to load up my tool box and my 10 and 12 pin rims and come to Barboo Wis.,next Aug.You want this old flat land hillbilly to show the good ole boys how to tune a big Mac. and file a fast chain.Sounds interesting, might bring the 048{ thats a surprise] Oh,by the way, what happened to the fastest Homie 2100,on the planet?
