well im off and it will be my first gtg have quit a few saws just firewood cutters what do you guys bring to these things thanks lee

This is my first as well. I'd bring whatever you feel like. I'll bring my go to saw, and probably some older oddball ones as well.

If you have anything that is unique, I'm sure people would love to see it.

To the Ski-Doo forum GTG's I attend I usually bring a cooler for beverages, a food item of the host's choice, and myself. I realize a chainsaw GTG is a little easier to bring equipment along so I'll be bringing a saw, maybe two.

If nobody attending has had an onion burger before, that may be what I bring. No, it's not just some onions on a burger :D

I can also bring Husky parts/accessories along if anybody is in need.

Onion burgers, sounds good. So far I think we have 3-4 side dishes/potato varieties. I plan to supply one dessert dish myself, plus the potato and onion salad(Ma's secret recipe).

I need to be rounding up the two gas grills I mentioned, I haven't done that yet.

It looks like we have a grand total of 27 so far. Some haven't confirmed how many they are bringing, but it looks like we'll be ballpark around 25-30. :D It's turning into a pretty good crowd.

How's parking up your way Moss Man?

I have a buddy that went to school in Maine for a couple of years.....

He said just about everyone up there didn't say "It's hot out here" - they said "It's hawt out here."

Another example - "Why don't ya give it a shot?" - "Why don't ya give it a shawt?"

Funny part is that they pronounce "heart" as "hot".

Anyways I am tossing around trying to make the trip. I am a long shot at this point but it may work out.

I fixed your numbers on our end. Cantdog, myself and potentially my dad will be coming in the same car.

I've been up there before. They actually sell decent pulp hooks, and my dad needed some new ones. I'm not sure I'd call it right around the corner, but it's not too far away. :hmm3grin2orange:

I thought right around the corner just mean anything less than an hour away in Maine...

Anything less than half an hour is usually right around the corner, and, yes, we do measure distance in hours. I checked, and it's about 30-40min to Labonville. I may have to swing through and get at least a few more pulp hooks.

It' an hour to Portland.
1.5 to Augusta
3 to Bangor
5 to Houlton
6 to Caribou

Most people that come to Maine only visit the southern half, and have no idea how big it really is. :D

No, heart = haht and hot = haht. There are no "r"'s in the Maine language. :)

I apologize for any offense..... my knowledge is only of the Massachusetts Swamp Yankee dialect.

There it is like this:

heart = haht (pronounced similar to hot in most parts)
hot = hawt

Hopefully I will make the GTG, so I can continue my language studies.

Like the people that consider Augusta a part of "northern Maine" :bang: :bang: :bang: :bang:
