I was on my way to the house today and saw three guys trimming trees (I use the term trimming loosely) as they were not good. What bothered me most was the climber (and he had minimal skills) was climbing every thing with spurs and a saddle but no safety line at all. I trim off a rope no spurs which I think is the proper way but this guy didn't even have a adjustable flip line. He spured up everything, monkey climbing and bear hugging the trees and I know it is just a matter of time until he falls and gets hurt bad. It also occured to me as he double wrapped the non adjustable lanyard around the tree trunk that he can not move even if he wants to and sure enough he got clobbered. This video is of the guy descending the tree painfully slow and with little control, if these type of guys would just spend a little time to learn even minimal safety skills so many less injuries would occur. I am not complain that their taking my work because the folks that hire these guys don't know good work when they see it and these jokers could not do 90% of the jobs I do anyway it is just sad such a disregard for personal safety.

The reason there are so many idiots is because we (society in general) keep taking care of them, I say let him climb on pole spurs with no overhead tie in... The heard needs thinning anyways, hope the groundie is smart enough to look up.

He wasn't and even after getting hit he still continued to look down.
